At agreed time, your guide/instructor will pick you up at your hotel in Coyhaique to travel in vehicle to Cerro Castillo National Park, 100km (60miles) south on paved roads. Once at the Park entrance, you start the hike up to “Laguna Verde” (Green Lagoon), walking through forests of Lenga and Ñire, with privileged views of General Carrera Lake and the Ibañez River valley. This is a walk of about 3 hours and a half (9km/5,6 miles), of medium difficulty with moderate slopes. Once at the top, you will have a well-deserved break for 45 minutes to enjoy a restorative snack and appreciate Laguna Verde in its magnificence, formed from water from the impressive glaciers of Cerro Castillo.
Afterwards, take your leave of this wonder of nature, walking back to the vehicle by the same path. Trekking down takes about 2 hours. Return to your hotel in Coyhaique.
