Let yourself be carried away by the force of the glacier and the life that surrounds it. A landscape of blue color, with impressive landslides and ice floes that will take you back to another era and remind you the experience of simply sitting and being embraced by nature in Laguna San Rafael National Park (Route of Parks of Patagonia).


Depart from Puerto Tranquilo at 07:30am to head 77km (48 miles) westward up to Explorers Bay. Upon arrival around 09:30am, you’ll be received by the crew that will accompany you through this unforgettable experience.


Before setting sail, the guide will brief you on security and give a general description of the trip. Here starts a soft navigation through the river delta, scenery with a particular beauty in which you will enjoy the breakfast.

In approximately 2.30 hours of navigation you’ll be at “Laguna San Rafael National Park” where you are going to contemplate the “San Rafael” Glacier and the magnificent natural scene that surrounds. The lunch will be served in front of the blue ice wall where you will be able to drink the famous whisky with millenary ice.


Afterwards, you will start the return navigation to Explorers Bay, arriving at 05:00pm approx., to connect with the vehicle and drive up to Puerto Tranquilo: Estimated time arrival 08:00pm.

  • October to April, always subject to availability and weather conditions.
  • Boat may vary according to the provider.

  • In case of cancellation due to bad weather, 100% of the cost will be reimbursed.
  • As stipulated by the Chilean Navy, a list of passengers with name,
  • Identity card or passport number, nationality and date of birth must be provided at least 24 hours before sailing time.
  • Groups of max. 20 participants according to the boat available.

Recommended to bring:

  • Cap, sun-glasses, sunblock, warm clothing, waterproof jacket, long trousers, gloves, walking boots or shoes, bottle of water and a change of clothing
