Not too many have lived the experience of visiting the southernmost end of the American Continent, according to UNESCO, one of the twenty most pristine places on earth. At the southern point of the American continent, where Patagonia comes to an end, Navarino Island is located, one of the twenty most pristine places on the planet according to UNESCO, protecting the heritage of Yagán ethnic group, inhabitants who conquered this territory thousands of years ago reaching the distant Cape Horn.

LAKUTAIA LODGE gives you the opportunity to be part of this unique adventure of the “End of the World”, and marvel at the natural beauty of an area that is equally distant as it is surprising.


Fly on Aerovias DAP to Puerto Williams. During the flight enjoy the
overwhelming views of amazing landscapes, the Strait of Magellan, the
beautiful glaciers of Darwin Mountain Range, and the Beagle Channel.
(Flight time will vary according to the aircraft available on the day, 50
minutes to 1:20 hr.).
Reception at airdrome and short transfer to LAKUTAIA LODGE.


After immigration process and port-tax payment at Ushuaia’s port in
Argentina, sail across the Beagle Channel to reach, after approximately
30 minutes, Puerto Navarino in the Chilean side. The navigation is
performed on board a small-size-semi-rigid motorboat.
Upon arrival at Puerto Navarino you will be picked up and transferred
on a 54-km/34 mile ride to Puerto Williams (1:40hr approx.) to do the
immigration process in Chile. Once this process is completed, you will
be transferred to LAKUTAIA LODGE to enjoy a welcome aperitif and

Adventure out of the beaten track, with lots of breathtaking sceneries

such as trekking in the southernmost trails of the world, navigating on

the same waters that Charles Darwin did 200 years ago, observing

miniature local forest, learning about the local birds, overflying the

legendary Cape Horn, etc.

According to the length of your stay participate in the different

activities/excursions that LAKUTAIA offers, based on your interest. The

excursions menu is detailed below.

Each activity is accompanied by a specialized guide and assisted by the

lodge staff.

Breakfast. At the agreed time, transfer to the aerodrome to take your flight to Punta Arenas, or to Puerto Williams Port Authority Office and then head

to Puerto Navarino and embark towards Ushuaia (Argentina).

Lakutaia Lodge

Set in a charming house overlooking the Beagle Channel, Lodge Lakutaia offers rooms with free Wi-Fi in Puerto Williams. It features a bar and a library, and free parking is provided. Caleta Robalo is 3 km away.


Fully carpeted, rooms at Lakutaia are decorated in soft hues. All of them have heating and private bathrooms.


International dishes and regional specialties can be enjoyed at the bar.


Guests can enjoy themselves reading a book from the library, or visit Martin Gusinde Museum, which is 4 km away. Trekking trail can be found nearby.


Lodge Lakutaia is 4 km from Bernardo O´Higgins Square and 2 km from Guardiamarina Zañartu Airfield.


It includes

  • Accommodation in comfortable single, double or triple rooms.
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner during the whole program.
  • Meals include one beverage per person (mineral water, or soft drink, or one glass of wine, or one beer).
  • Specialized bilingual guide during excursions (English/Spanish).
  • Bicycles upon request.
  • Several excursions during the length of your stay.
  • Airport taxes and flights from and to Punta Arenas, 20kg max of luggage per person. *** If the flight is performed on a Twin Otter aircraft, the max. luggage allowance is 10kg due to security reasons. In the case a passenger has more luggage, it can´t be transported on the same day, it will be taken on the next day flight and delivered in the lodge.
  • International transfer by boat plus land transfer from and to Ushuaia port.


  • All excursions and activities are subject to weather conditions.
  • The motor-boat to be used for the navigation from Ushuaia to Puerto Navarino is of semi-rigid materials and has comfortable seats, fully fireproof, heating system and all the latest navigation and safety elements in compliance with national regulations. Maximum capacity 12 passengers.

Suggested Outerwear

  • It is recommended to dress in layers such as, thermal top, a sweater and a parka, hat and gloves. It is also important that you wear water-proof hiking boots.
